Acer just released its new Aspire S5 Ultrabook which the company is claiming to be the world’s thinnest ultrabook to date plus it is also the first Ultrabook to have Thunderbolt connector.
As other Ultrabooks on the market, the Aspire S5 also features a slim body casing which measures just 0.44-inch at its thinnest and 0.59 at the thickest plus it is also lightweight at only 2.65 pounds.
The Aspire S goes by the model name Aspire S5-391-9880, it’s body was constructed using a magnesium-alloy and brushed metal chassis, it is delicately curved and will be available in a Onyx Black. It comes equipped with a 13.3-inch 1366×768 LED-backlit display, it is powered by Intel’s 3rd gen Core i7-3517U Ivy Bridge processor, it features a 256GB SSD for speedy data access.
The Aspire S5 Ultrabook also has a 1.3-Megapixel HD Webcam, WiFi connectivity and Dolby Home Theater v4 sound enhancement. It features the MagicFlip I/O port panel that concealed just below the hinge, and with a press of the MagicFlip buttons, you can open the panel to use its USB 3.0, Thunderbolt and HDMI ports.
It is also Acer’s first product in the US to come with AcerCloud that offers unlimited cloud storage and allows you share your music, video, photos and documents on the S5 with all other devices. Acer plans to sell the super slim Ultrabook on the US market for the price of $1399.99.
