Apple will be holding a media event today (Oct. 22nd) where the company will release two new iPad models, which includes the second-generation iPad mini and the fifth-generation full-size iPad, currently being referred as the iPad 5. The specifications of the new iPad model is presently unknown, however Apple is expected to revamp the iPad 5 with a completely new design which could look somewhat similar to its “mini” counterpart.
Some of the main features that can be expected from the newly designed iPad 5 includes a Thinner and Lighter form factor. According to reports, the new tablet will feature the same ezels and symmetrical speaker grilles as the iPad mini, plus it will have a similar aluminum unibody and less-tapered back for an easier grip.
It’s believe that the Apple iPad 5 will be released with at least an A7X chip which would be similar to the A7 chip but fully optimized for the iPad. The new tablet is also most likely to come sporting a new camera, the iPad 4 had a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video as well as a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with 720p HD video, so whatever comes with the iPad 5 will be an improvement.
According to a report by Ibtimes, the iPad 5 is expected to feature a slightly improved FaceTime HD camera, likely a 2-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video, and a 8-megapixel camera for the first time. Like the new iPhone 5S, the iPad 5 is believe to be coming in atleast one new color option; including its original black and white colors; which the iPad 4 and iPad mini is offer in.
