Apple has decided to update their MacBook Air line with the Intel Ivy Bridge processors. The 11-inch version of the MacBook Air will now come standard with Intel Core i5 1.7GHz processor while the 13-inch model gets the Core i5 1.8GHz processor and all models can be configured with Core i7 2GHz processor.
The models that are updated with the new generation processors will have two USB 3.0 ports, one thunderbolt which also doubles as Mini Displayport for high-speed connectivity and it will have MagSafe 2 power port. All models are equipped with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and can hold 8GB max, they have SSD storage and Intel’s HD 4000 graphics card.
Both models includes a full-size backlit keyboard, a multitouch trackpad, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n wireless connectivity, stereo speakers, omnidirectional microphone and the 13-inch model gets an SD card slot.
The 11-inch MacBook Air with Ivy Bridge will be available in 64GB or 128GB SSD starting at $999 and $1099, respectively; while the 13-inch model comes in 128GB or 256GB SSD for $1199 and $1499.
