Apple also announced its next-generation iPod nano Media Player which gets a redesigned form factor. The new iPod nano comes equipped with a 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display which is nearly twice as big as the display on the previous iPod nano. With the new display, users can see more photos, more music and more videos.
The new iPod nano comes with the Genius features which allows user to listen similar songs one after the other: “Say you’re listening to a song you love and you want to stay in the mood. Just tap Genius. It finds other songs on iPod nano that go great together and makes a Genius playlist for you.” The “small big screen” also works great when watching videos in widescreen mode, it utilizes the Bluetooth 4.0 technology enabling users to pair with Bluetooth-enabled headphones, supported speakers and even your car’s stereo system.
There’s an integrated FM radio which will keep you rocking while on the go, giving you local news and programming. It will be shipped with all new EarPods (Earphones) which were engineered by Apple and looks unlike any earbuds you have ever seen.
The iPod also gets the Lightening Connector which replaces the 30-pin connector and is more durable but if you have an iPod nano accessory that depends on the 30-pin connector, you can still connect it to your iPod nano with a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter which will be sold separately.
The new iPod nano will be available in multiple colors and will only be available a 16GB model which will retail for the price of $149, portions of the proceeds from every purchase will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.
