Asus’ new Android tablet is scheduled for release on the US and Canadian markets next week. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Android Tablet will become the ummh-teen tablet for the US market thus making tablets available unfortunately they are note a dime a dozen. The Eee Pad Transformer measures 271 x 177 x 12.98 mm and weighs in at approximately 680 grams, it packs a Tegra 2 Processor and a feature specifications that are noteworthy such as a 10.1-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a 1280×800 resolution that is protected by Gorilla Glass, there is a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2-megapixel camera is on the front for video conferencing, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, a mini HDMI port and an integrated SD card slot for expansion of its storage capacity. The Eee Pad Transformer has a few accessories out that will increase productivity such as the keyboard docking station that has a full QWERTY keyboard, two USB 2.0 ports, built-in battery to increase battery life by up to 16 hours and a built-in card reader for $149. The Eee Pad Transformer on the other hand will be available in two different version, a 16GB version for $399 and a 32GB version for $499.
