During the 2015 CES in Las Vegas, ASUS announced its new ZenFone 2 and ZenFone Zoom smartphone which both comes in a phablet form factor with a huge 5.5-inch display.
Well if you figures that both devices are too big for you, we just got reports that the company maybe launching a 5-inch version of the ZenFone 2 very soon. According to the report, the 5-inch version of the phablet should be hitting retail locations shortly after the original 5.5-inch model goes on sale in March.
Specifications-wise, the 5-inch variant of the ZenFone 2 should have a similar design but will get slightly lower RAM (not confirmed), but it is expected to offer a 5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front and should be powered by a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The ZenFone 2 is expected to hit stores in March for the price of $199, so its safe to assume that the smaller variant should come cheaper. We will keep you posted as more details surface about the 5-inch variant of the Zenfone 2.
