A few moments after photos showed up on AT&T’s site, the Blackberry Torch 9800 Slider Phone was announced at an event in New York. The Blackberry 9800 happens to be the first slider blackberry device, the first to sport the new Blackberry 6 platform and the first to combine a touchscreen and a keypad.
Some features of the device includes a 3.2-inch 360×480 capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-Megapixel camera with flash, image stabilization and video recording capabilites, built-in GPS, WiFi connectivity, optical trackpad and a slide-out QWERTY Keyboard. The Blackberry 9800 also powered by a 624MHz processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB flash memory, it comes with 4GB of onboard memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB.
AT&T will be offering the new Blackberry Torch 9800 Slider to consumers at a price of $199.99 with 2-year service agreement starting August 12th, 2010.
