Tomorrow AT&T will be releasing the new Samsung Eco-Friendly Mobile Phone dubbed the Samsung Evergreen on their Network. The Evergreen is ideal for the environmentally conscious Customers who seek a sleek designed handset. The Evergreen is a quick messaging phone that was constructed with 70% recycled post-consumer plastics and packaging that utilizes 80% recycled post-consumer paper. The packaging is also eco-friendly as it was printed using soy ink and the packaging is also 100% recyclable.
The device is free of PVC, BFR and Berylium, it is also powered by an Energy Star Version 2.0 qualified energy efficient charge with standby power loss less than 0.03W and an energy efficiency of less than 75 percent. Ranting about the eco-friendly feature, I almost forgot other noteworthy features such as a 2.4-inch LCD display, a side-sliding QWERTY Keyboard, a 2-Megapixel Camera, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 + SSP, GPS with AT&T Navigator and support for dual-band 3G connectivity and quad-band GSM technology.
AT&T will debut the phone on November 7th for a price of $29.99 after $50 mail-in rebate, a two year contract and a $20 per month messaging or messaging/data plan. This means that you will be paying a total of $79.99 and after the mail-in rebate you will receive a $50 AT&T Promotion Card.
To celebrate the launch of the Evergreen, Samsung Mobile announced it will donate $1 for every device sold, with a maximum donation of $100,000, to the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers.
