AT&T just announced that they have started offering the eco-friendly Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate (SGH-I577) Smartphone which happens to be the carrier’s first LTE smartphone to obtain environmentally preferable UL Platinum cetification. The handset was first announced back in January as the Exhilarate and Samsung later decided to add it to its range of Galaxy devices.
The handset comes equipped with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, the Exhilarate lacks the Android 4.0 but instead runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
Other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate LTE includes a 5-Megapixel camera on the rear with 720p video recording and a 1.3-Megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. The handset comes with 4GB of ROM and supports microSD/SDHC card slot that supports cards up to 32GB. The device supports Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi connectivity.
AT&T now sells the Galaxy Exhilarate LTE Smartphone for $49.99 with a 2-year contract. Being an eco-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy Exhilarate LTE is made with 80% recycled material and also comes with a energy-efficient charger that alerts you to unplug the device when its charging.
