Prominent Book retailer, Barnes & Noble has once again announced another variant of its NOOK eReader called the NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight, but this one is claiming to be the world’s first e-ink e-book reader with built-in lighting technology for perfect bedtime reading.
The NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is a lightweight eReader and is also the lightest NOOK reader which weighs less than 7oz. It comes equipped with a 6-inch touchscreen display with 16-level grayscale and 600×800 resolution, it has Best-Text technology to optimize each letter for ultra crisp words, it support multiple media formats including ePub, PDF files as well as JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP images plus it has a microSDHC card slot for storing your favorite books on a memory card.
The main selling feature for the NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is the adjustable glow optimized for low light reading. The GlowLight can be turned on instantly and adjusted easily with a touch. Other than the ability to reading your favorite book without a nightlight, the reader also has built-in anti-glare screen for reading in any lit environment.
The new NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is expected to be released on May 1st and will be sold at $139 per unit.
