Along with the EOS Rebel SL1 or EOS 100D, Canon has also announced the launch of its new EOS Rebel T5i Digital SLR Camera which will be called the EOS 700D on other markets. Like its predecessor the T4i, the T5i comes equipped with the same 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS Sensor with ISO 100-12800 and still features the DIGIC 5 image processing engine.
A few things are similar including the nine-point all cross-type AF focus points and Hybrid CMOS AF system for accurate and fast auto focus. There are some advanced shooting modes, including Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control or Multi-Shot Noise Reduction, which will take multiple images and combine them to create the best quality image.
Canon’s T5i features a built-in stereo microphone which supports manual audio level adjustment for enhanced sound quality plus its also capable of recording Full HD videos. There’s a 3-inch Clear Touch display that can be rotated and flipped plus it supports multitouch operations.
Like the Rebel SL1, the Canon T5i will be released on April 30th and priced at $749.99 for body only; $899.99 with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens kit; and $1,099.00 with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM kit lens. Amazon already has it listed for pre-order at the same price as suggested by Canon.
