Canon introduces another digital camera from its PowerShot Series which is called the PowerShot ELPH 500 HS. It is a touchscreen 12.1 Megapixel CMOS camera that comes with a f/2.0 4x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilizer and 24mm wide angle. It also features the DIGIC 4 image processor, the HS SYSTEM technology to enhance image quality in low-light situations without the user of flash along with the ability to record Full 1080p HD video recording. The Canon PowerShot ELPH 500 comes with 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD display, a Movie Digest Mode that records a short video clip right before shooting a still image along with standard features including Motion Detection, ISO up to 3200, Smart AUTO mode that intelligently selects the proper settings for the camera based on 32 predefined shooting situations; High-speed Burst Mode that captures 8.2fps and Super Slow Motion Movie that records video at high speeds as well as Face Detection.
The Canon PowerShot ELPH 500 HS Touchscreen Digital Camera is expected to be launched in March, 2011 in the colors of silver, pink and brown for a mere $299.99 and it is presently available for pre-order over at Amazon.
