In addition to the PowerShot S110, Canon just announced the new PowerShot G15 Camera which replaces the PowerShot G12. It comes equipped with a 28mm wide-angle f/1.8 – f/2.8 lens with 5x optical zoom that was recently developed by the company. With this new lens, the camera is capable of capturing quality images in extremely low light conditions.
It comes equipped with a 12.1 Megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS image sensor, powered by a DIGIC 5 image processor plus there’s also the Canon HS SYSTEM for enhanced low-light image quality. The PowerShot G15 comes with a 3-inch 922k-dot LCD display, it supports 12-bit multi aspect RAW+JPEG shooting as well as Full HD 1080p video recording.
The PowerShot G15 Digital Camera comes with advanced features such as High Speed AF for improved AF focus speeds and reduced lag, Intelligent IS that automatically chooses from six different modes to optimize image stabilization for the shooting condition, a maximum ISO sensitivity up to 12,800, Smart Auto mode with 58 scenes, and High-speed Burst HQ mode. Canon plans to start selling the PowerShot G15 in October for the price of $499.99.
