Christmas U.S. Online Holiday Spending up to $35.3 Billion

comScorecomScore revealed its report that shows the result of the holiday season retail e-commerce spending from the first 56 days of the November to December 2011 holiday season. According to comScore’s report, a whopping $35.3 billion has been spent online, marking a 15 percent increase when compared to the corresponding days last year.

On the week ending December 25 alone $2.8 billion was spent online, an increase of 16 percent versus the corresponding week last year. From the $35.3 Billion that was spent online, Digital Content & Subscriptions accounted for 2.8 percent of retail e-commerce sales, but on Christmas Day the category accounted for more than 20 percent of sales.
