Creative has announced two new Android Powered Tablets onto the Market, they are the Creative ZiiO. One of the tablets comes with a 7-inch 800×480 resolution touch display while the other gets a 10-inch 1024×600 resolution touchscreen. Both screens get to use the resistive touchscreen technology, instead of capacitive.
Both ZiiO Tablets runs the Android 2.1 Eclair OS, the only thing is the ZiiO doesn’t offer access to the Android Market Place, instead Creative has made their own App Marketplace called the ZiiStore. Creative is also promising an Android Froyo 2.2 update coming soon, so probably access to the Android Marketplace will be added in that update. There is no word on how much memory the devices will be packing but we know both tablets will be powered by Creative’s own processor, ZiiLab ZMS-08.
Both ZiiO tablets also promises HD Video Out to your HDTV, WiFi b/g connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, mini-USB, integrated stereo speakers, 3.5mm Audio Jack, a front facing camera and a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards.
They will be compatible with popular video and audio formats including H.264, MPEG4, WMV9, MJPEG, MOV, AVI, MKV, MP3, AAC, WMA9, FLAC, OGG, ADPCM, MIDI, WAV and Audible. The 10-inch Creative ZiiO measures 262 x 173 x 13.7mm and weighs in at 650g while the 7-Inch Model weighs 400g and measures 207.4 x 133 x 13.7mm.
Both the Creative ZiiO 7 and 10-inch Android Tablets are expected to be release in December and comes in a choice of 8GB or 16GB. The 7-inch Tablet will be priced at £199.99 or £219.99 while the 10-inch Model will be priced at £249.99 or £269.99, respectively.
