Garmin just introduced the new quatix, the world’s first navigating marine GPS watch designed for mariners, both power and sail. The new lightweight watch utilizes the Garmin GPS technology and provides comprehensive navigation and sailing capabilities and other marine features.
The quatix comes equipped with a 1.2-inch monochrome LCD and polyurethane wristband that has maximum flexibility and durability. Thanks to the GPS sensor built-in, the quatix allows users to load users to load it with mark waypoint, navigate to destinations and routers.
There’s also a altimeter, barometer and 3-axis compass to provide real-time information of the environment, predict weather change and offer the user’s bearing. You can pair the quatix with Garmin GNT 10 NMEA Transceiver to wirelessly stream and view NEMA 2002 data, such as wind speed and direction, water depth. Garmin is going to release the quatix in Q1 2013.
