Since Microsoft released its new Windows 8 operating system, we have seen a number of new notebooks surfacing and Gigabyte is apart of the mix with their new U2141 covertible notbook series. The new U2141 Convertible Notebook Series was recently submitted for approval by the FCC and could be seen on shelves in early 2013.
The Gigabyte U2141 features an 11.6-inch design which includes a capacitive touchscreen with 1366×768 HD resolution and a full QWERTY keyboard. The series is powered by Intel’s 3rd gen Ivy Bridge Core i3-3217U or Core i5-3317U processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, it gets up to 256GB mSATA SSD or 1TB hard drive (there’s also the option to get both), it has two DDR III RAM slot for up to 16GB of memory and runs Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro.
Other specifications of the U2141 includes support for Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, D-sub and HDMI video outputs, optional 3.5G WWAN mobile network, a 2-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam and 2×1.5-watt speakers. No pricing details are available for the new convertible device as yet.
