Google rumored to be opening their own retail stores this year

According to rumors circulating in the blogosphere, Google seems to plan on taking the same route as Microsoft this year and open its own chain of retail stores globally.

9to5 Google recently posted a post that claims that Google will be launching their own retail stores across metropolitan areas in the United States ahead of the holidays this year.

Google SignIt comes as no surprise that source claims that these stores will be used to show off Google’s own brand of products, such as the Nexus lineup of Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Chromebooks running Google’s Chrome OS.

The internet giants have not yet commented on the topic or confirmed the rumors, but knowing that they already have their own online store, having their own retail store would be the next best thing.
