HTC has released the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS upgrades for its Sensation and Sensation XE smartphones in Europe. The HTC Sensation and Sensation XE were both launched with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and now with the Android 4.0 upgrade users should see quite a few enhancements in performance.
The manufacturer has noted that they will be offering the upgrade to unlocked and unbranded smartphones first, and it will be up to individual carriers to deliver the upgrade to their customers later. The upgrade will include the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and HTC’s Sense 3.6 User interface.
Users who has a Sensation or Sensation XE which is unlocked or unbranded by a carrier should get the notification as soon as the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.
There’s no telling when the carriers will start sending out updates to their subscribers using either of the smartphones.
