HTC has announced a new smartphone for the Japanese market that goes by the name J Butterfly. It comes with a large 5-inch touchscreen display and it is the the first production smartphone to have a 1080p display. There’s a 5-inch Super LCD3 touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920×1080, giving it a pixel density of 440 ppi.
The J Butterfly is slightly bigger than the One X measuring 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm and weighting at 140g. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM, there’s 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports 32GB cards.
It comes with an 8-megapixel main camera capable of 1080p HD video recording as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. The J Butterfly also comes with IPX5 certifications, meaning its dust and waterproof, it supports LTE and NFC connectivity, and there’s a 2,020mAh with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out the box.
