In addition to the One X from the HTC One Family of smartphones, HTC also announced the One S at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The HTC One S is considered to be the company’s thinnest smartphone yet, its ultra-slim design measures less than 8mm thick and aimed at customers who want an high-end smartphone in a compact size.
It comes equipped with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with contoured Corning Gorilla Glass, it is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out the box. The One S is the mid-range model of the One Series.
The One S gets the same camera as the One X, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with custom ImageChip, ImageSense enhancement, BSI sensor, LED flash, F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens, it also gets Beats Audio, supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 850/900/2100 MHz HSPA/WCDMA networks, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi, DLNA wireless sharing and micro USB 2.0 with mobile high-definition video link (MHL). The One S will be launched on the US market via T-Mobile USA in Spring 2012.
