Huawei has finally made it official, its 7-inch MediaPad Tablet which as also known as the world’s first 7-inch tablet with Google’s Android 3.2 OS Honeycomb running on it plus the Slimmest, Smartest and lightest tablet yet. The Slate PC was just launched in Singapore at the on-going CommunicaAsia. As promised they have equipped the device with a 7-inch touchscreen display packed in a body that measures a mere 10.5mm thick.
It addition to the latest version of the Google Honeycomb OS, it also packs the power of a 1.2GHz Dual-core processor from Qualcomm and 8GB of on-board storage plus the option to use an SDHC memory card for more storage capacity.
It weighs approximately 390grams which is less than a pound and also has a few noteworthy specifications such as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chats, built-in GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and a battery life that promises up to 6 hours of operation. The MediaPad also comes with Flash 10.3 Player, comes pre-loaded with Documents on the Go, access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, there is a bluetooth module in addition to its WiFi connectivity, supports HSPA+ 3G and there is an HDMI port for connectivity to your HDTV. The Huawei MediaPad is expected to start shipping Q3 of this year and there won’t be a WiFi-only model so you will have to get tied up with a data contract from supporting carriers.
