Intel and Lava International Ltd has teamed up to launch the Lava XOLO X900 Smartphone on the India Market, it is claimed to be India’s first smartphone to run on an Intel processor. The XOLO X900 smartphone features a 4.03-inch touchscreen display, it is based on Intel’s reference design and powered by the Intel 1.6GHz Atom Z2460 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology.
The Lava XOLO will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS at launch, it supports Intel’s XMM 6260 Platform, HSPA+ data connectivity, there’s an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing camera for video calls. Other connectivity features of the Intel Lava XOLO includes an HDMI port for streaming media to a larger screen, HD video playback and NFC (Near Field Communication) support.
The Lava XOLO X900 will be launched in India during Q2 of 2012 and will support all major 2G and 3G networks in the country. No pricing details has been unveiled for the new device.
