“Swiping in quick succession diagonally on the screen renders the input null. In other words, the iPhone 5 no longer detects any touches on the screen and fails to fails to respond in kind. While the problem is not present on every iPhone 5, proverbial fingers are pointing to the new in-cell technology used to fuse the digitizer to the screen, as there is no evidence the issue exists on previous versions of the iPhone.”
According to the report, the issue only happens at times, the screen operates perfectly sometimes while in other situations no input is registered at all. Fifth generation iPod Touch users are also reporting the same problem, narrowing the issue to the new 4-inch Retina display and not necessarily software, as it was first thought to be.
