There are a few rumors in circulation about the upcoming iPhone 6 Smartphone, according to rumors the iPhone 6 is expected to come equipped with a 4.7-inch screen size.
According to Jeffries analyst Peter Misek, Apple is in talks with the carriers in the United states about increasing the price of the upcoming iPhone 6 by $100.
This means bad news for us as subscribers, as the device which would cost $199 on a two-year contract will now cost $300 on-contract price. With a price increase, it might affect the sales of the upcoming iPhone as most flagship always cost $199 with a new two-year contract.
Rumors also stated that the carriers initial response was “no”, however they might accept a partial price hike if not the whole $100.
“The possibility may at first seem far-fetched in light of investor concerns regarding possible carrier subsidy and handset price cuts due to smartphone saturation and lack of differentiation,” Misek comments. “But we think this general lack of differentiation could be the reason why Apple may be able to get a price increase. Carriers realize that the iPhone 6 will likely be the only headline-worthy high-end phone launched this year and that they will lose subs if they do not offer it.”
