Karuma Innovations, a Singapore-based technology company has launched a PC tablet for children called the PlayBase Plus (PlayBase+) tablet. The company unveiled the device using twitter and they are calling it the world’s first antibacterial tablet, thanks to the newly developed silver seal technology, which prevents germs from getting into the various crevices of the tablet.
The PlayBase+ comes equipped with an 7-inch touchscreen display that offers an 800×480 pixel resolution, it supports multitouch gestures and it will also protect your kids from germs, as tests proves that the screen kills up to 99.9% of bacteria commonly found on screens and in the home.
Under the hood, it features a 1.2GHz ARM Core A8 processor with a single-core, it gets an integrated Mali-400 GPU, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 8GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot that will support high-capacity cards up to 32GB. Functions of the surgical clean tablet includes the ability to chat with friends and family members on Skype with its 1.3-Megapixel webcam, it comes with stereo speakers, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, it has a MicroUSB port, an accelerometer and battery life of up to 4 hours.
The Karuma PlayBase Plus Antibacterial Kids Tablet runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with a custom UI, it also comes with a few apps pre-installed; YogiPlay, NetNanny and SafePlay. The 7-inch Kids Tablet goes for the price of $229.
