Kingston has released the new HyperX 3K Solid State Drive which is a high performance solid state drive that comes with an affordable price tag. According to Kingston Digital, the new HyperX 3K is ideal for budget-minded gamers, enthusiasts, multitaskers, overclockers and system builders allowing them to experience the ultimate in the ultra-responsive gaming, multitasking and multimedia computing power.
The HyperX 3K SSD is powered by a SandForce SF-2281 controller, it supports the SATA 3.0 6Gb/s interface, it is based on MLC NAND flash memory and will be available in the storage capacities of 90GB, 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB.
The Kingston HyperX 3K SSD arrives in the usual 2.5-inch form factor and it delivers read speeds of up to 555MB and 510MB write speeds but the 480GB model is a bit slower with a 540MB read speed and a 450MB write speed.
The HyperX 3K features 85,000 IOPS for read speed and 74,000 IOPS for write speed. All the models in the HyperX 3K series will be available as a standalone SSD or as kits. The 90GB SSD will go for $139.99 standalone and $149.99 as Bundle Kit, the 120GB SSD goes for $169.99 standalone and $179.99 in Bundle Kit, the 240GB for $319.99 or $329.99 Bundle Kit while the 480GB goes for $699.99 standalone and $709.99 in Bundle Kit.
