Kingston Technologies has once again rolled out another Solid State Drive called the SSDNow KC100, it is said to be the company’s first SATA III 6Gbps SSD. It comes in the 2.5-inch form factor and will be available in the storage capacities of 120GB, 240GB and 480GB with all models using the SATA III interface which delivers a read speed of up to 555MB/s and a 510MB/s write speed. They are also compatible with the SATA I/II interfaces.
The are aimed at business users, and are powered by SandForce controller and offers enterprise-level S.M.A.R.T attributes for monitoring the drive’s usage statistics, health and life stage. The Kingston SSDNow KC100 comes with two embedded encryption engines which both runs AES-128 and AES-256, for hardware-based data encryption and they are available standalone or with an upgrade kit plus they are already available for pre-order on Amazon with prices ranging from $337 all the way to $1,285.
