Kingston Technologies announced its new SSDNow V+200 solid state drives which is the latest unit from the company’s SSDNow series. The drives are ideal high-performance upgrade solution for the performance minded yet cost-conscious business or home user, they provide up to 535MB/s sequential read and 480MB/s sequential write speeds, thanks to the SandForce SF-2281 processor that is utilizes by the drives and SATA 3.0 6Gbps interface.
The SSDNow V+200 will be available in the storage options of 60GB, 90GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, they all features DuraWrite to optimize writes to extend endurance; DuraClass for Data Integrity Protection, RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) for advanced data reliability; as well as self-encrypting drive technology, S.M.A.R.T. and TRIM command.
The SSDNow V+200 will be available as an upgrade kit or sold as is with no accessories. The upgrade kit will include a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch bracket, cables, an hard drive enclosure and cloning software. Pricing details for the series ranges from as low as $140 for the 60GB stand-alone drive and up to $985 for the 480GB upgrade bundle kit.
