Kobo’s first water and dust-resistant eReader will be available in the U.S, Canada and some parts of Europe starting on October 1st for the suggested retail price of about $180 which is about €180. Kobo plans to put up the new eReader up for preorder on September 1st from Kobo.com.
The device is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts who like to read in place where the device would be exposed to the elements such as at the beach, at the poolside, in the bathtub or anywhere else normal gadgets or regular books could be easily ruined.
The Kobo Aura H2O comes equipped with a 6.8 inch display with 265 dots per inch, an E Ink Carta display, 4GB of built-in storage plus a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of removable storage.
It’s powered by 1GHz processor, it has a front light that you can use to read in the dark or in dim environments. The device also features a two month battery life from a single charge.
