Kobo plans to launch its new Kobo Glo e-book reader in October, the reader was designed specially to deliver comfortable e-reading experience. It has a feature called Comfortlight which uses front light technology to direct light at the page instead of user’s eyes for comfortable reading with eyestrain, kind of similar to Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite technology.
The ComfortLight also has micro-thin hard coating for durability and even light distribution. It comes equipped with a 6-inch no-glare e-ink Pearl touchscreen display with a 1024×768 pixel resolution. It also has an option which allows the user to create their own ideal reading experience with a choice of 7 additional font styles and 24 sizes, it has sharpness setting and adjustable weight.
The Glo is powered by a 1GHz processor, there is 2GB of internal storage capable of storing up to 2000 e-books plus it has a slot for microSD/SDHC cards up to 32GB providing even more space for your eBooks. The Glo comes with a built-in battery that provides up to 55 hours of continuous use with the light on or over 1 month with WiFi and light turned off. The Kobo Glo goes on sale on October 1st in the colors of Pink Sunset, Blue Moon and Silver Star for $129.99.
