[CES 2013] Lenovo has announced that they will be joining brands like HTC, Motorola, and Samsung in the highly competitive smartphone market, and the company plans to kick off the competition with its new Lenovo Ideaphone K5, which is expected to be available soon starting with markets such as China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Russia.
The Lenovo Ideaphone K5 comes equipped with a 5-inch Full HD display with a 400+ PPI pixel density, the handset will be constructed using a polycarbonate unibody chassis that measures less than 7.3mm thick. On the rear of the handset, there’s an impressive 13-megapixel camera with a F1.8 lens and a Exmor BSI sensor that captures high resolution images.
There no word on when it will be available in North American markets but when it does, it will compete against high-end smartphones with its dual-core graphics processor and Intel hyper-threading technology. According to some of the specs on this new and upcoming smartphone, it could be competition to the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5.
