Lenovo plans to start shipping its Helix Tablet in the US, but its new 5-inch S920 Phablet will be launched on the Asia market starting on April 1st. The company will start taking pre-orders on the over-sized smartphone via their online store on April 1st for the price of 2199 Chinese Yuan (about US354).
The Lenovo S920 will be a competitor of the Samsung Galaxy Note II in Asia, with its 5.3-inch 720p HD touchscreen display and ultra-slim bezel. The frame of the device measures a super-slim 7.8mm and weighs only 156g, which means as huge as it is, the company still made it as lightweight and as slim as possible.
The S920 will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6589 quad-core 1.2Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM, it only comes with 4GB of internal storage and gets a microSD card slot for additional storage. It gets an 8-megapixel main camera with flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and self-portraits.
There are a few connectivity options which includes WiFi and Bluetooth, GPS navigation plus they also added a 2250 mAh battery for hours of operation. The phone/tablet hybrid will go on sale in China start on the 8th of April, it runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Lenovo’s custom UI right out its packaging.
