LG Electronics has unveiled the successor to its Optimus One Smartphone that was released last year, the Optimus 2 or Optimus AS680 comes equipped with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display which is somewhat similar to that of its sibling. The new Optimus Mid-Level Android Smartphone is powered by an 800MHz single-core processor, it supports 800 and 1900MHz CDMA networks and has a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus much like the Optimus One.
The Optimus 2 Smartphone comes with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread pre-installed as well as the Swype keyboard for quick and easy text input. With it support for the 800 and 1900MHz bands on the CDMA network it is most likely to debut on Sprint, Verizon Wireless or other regional carriers that operates on the CDMA band. No pricing for the US market was announced but the will be available soon.
