LG has announced a new addition to its Optimus Series of Smartphones, the LG Optimus Big that is destined for the South Korea Market and will be launched later today. The Optimus Big gets the model name the Optimus LU68 00, it gets a 4.3-inch WVGA NOVA Touchscreen Display, it packs the power of a 1GHz Dual-Core Processor, a 5-Megapixel camera with video recordings, a front-facing camera for video calling, 16GB of onboard storage and the Android Froyo 2.2 running in the background. Even though it will be shipped with 2.2, the handset is expected to get the 2.3 Gingerbread update right after the device is launched. There are also other specs that were not mentioned such as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and GPS Navigation. Smartphones running the Android Platform with a 4″+ screen seems to be the standards in which each smartphone must be developed as almost every manufacturer in the mobile industry is doing it. The smartphone will be launched today on the South Korea Market but there are no details that indicates an iminent arrival in the US.
