LG has officially announced its new 5.5-inch Phablet in its home market of South Korea this week, on February 20th to be more precise. The new Optimus G Pro has gotten unveiled in Korea but its expected to get its global showcase at the upcoming 2013 Mobile World Congress and will be getting its US launch in Q2.
The Optimus G Pro is powered by a powerful 1.7GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory with a microSD card slot for expansion. It features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1920×1080 Full HD resolution and 400ppi pixel density, there’s a 13-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting with friends, plus both cameras are capable of recording Full HD videos.
One great feature of the handset that will be a favorite amongst users is the Dual Recording function, allowing the user to capture video with both cameras simultaneously for a picture-in-picture experience. It comes with connectivity options such as Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, it comes with wireless charging, as well as LG’s improved UI and upgraded QSlide, Live Zooming and QuickMemo.
There’s no word on pricing nor availability date but you will be glad to know that the smartphone comes with a 3140mHz battery to provide hours of Full HD viewing.
