Magellan just announced its new eXplorist 510 Marine Edition GPS navigation device that was designed specially for recreational boaters. The eXplorist 510 Marine Edition basically combines the eXplorist 510 Outdoor GPS device with a custom selection of Navionics marine navigation charts and data.

It comes equipped with a 3-inch sunlight-readable color touchscreen display, it has a 3.2-Megapixel camera with autofocus, it has a built-in microphone and speaker plus it was also designed to be waterproof with IPX7 certification.

The main highlights of the device includes the ability to deliver high-definition content for 12,000 U.S. lakes, and U.S. coastal coverage up to two miles offshore, it offers data on 5-foot contours, tides, currents, wrecks, port plans, marsh areas and marine services. Magellan will start selling the eXplorist 510 Marine Edition in August for the price of $479.99.
