Microsoft Surface for Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro
Microsoft recently introduced its multitouch tablet, the Microsoft Surface. The company just announced the new tablet that runs Windows and will be available in two different versions, there’s the Surface for Windows RT and Surface for Windows 8 Pro. Both Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro variants come with an all-magnesium VaporMg case with built-in kickstand making the devices ideal for watching video.

The Surface for Windows RT is based on ARM processor and is confirmed to be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The tablet comes equipped with a 10.6-inch ClearType HD touchscreen display, it comes with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, it has a USB 2.0 port, a micro HDMI video output and it supports WiFi connectivity with 2×2 MIMO antenna. It measures just 9.3mm thick and weighs 676g and also comes pre-loaded with Office 15 apps.

The Surface for Windows 8 Pro is basically a x86 tablet which is powered by Intel Ivy Bridge 3rd generation core processor, it takes the form of an Ultrabook without keyboard and features a 10.6-inch ClearType touchscreen display with Full HD resolution and can be used with a stylus. The Surface for Windows 8 Pro will be available in a 64GB and 128GB versions, they will have a microSDXC card slot that should support cards up to 64GB. The Windows 8 Pro is more advanced than the Windows RT unit but at the same time it is heavier and thicker.

Microsoft will also release Touch Cover and Type Cover that not just protect the Surface tablet but also add keyboard for easy typing.
