Motorola has announced its new Defy Rugged Android Smartphone that meets IP67 standard, which makes it waterproof, dustproof and scratch resistant. The handset is expected to be released in Europe by the end of 2010. It is powered by a 800MHz OMAP 3610 Processor, 512MB of RAM and Android 2.1 with MOTOBLUR UI, plus it only supports WCDMA/HSDPA 900/2100 and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks instead of CDMA.
The handset comes equipped with a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that was constructed from Corning Gorilla Glass, WiFi connectivity, 5-Megapixel Camera with LED Flash, aGPS and GPS functions, Bluetooth, CrystalTalk PLUS dual-mic noise reduction, DLNA Support, MicroSD/SDHC cards and 2GB of internal storage. There has been no pricing information announced for the new Motorola Defy Rugged Android Smartphone.
