Motorola has just announced the launch of two new variants from the XOOM family, they are the Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edtion. Both models comes with Android Honeycomb 3.2 running under the hood, they feature similar specifications except for the fact that they get different screen sizes. The Motorola XOOM 2 comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass plus they have also added the company’s own splash-resistant coating for better protection and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM that is dedicated to running the applications.
It comes in a body that measures a mere 0.35-inch in thinness plus it also comes with a battery that Motorola claims to be durable and will deliver up to 10 hours of operation. The Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition features most of the specifications as the XOOM 2 but it comes with an 8.2-inch touchscreen display that Motorola says will deliver wide viewing angles, and multiple speakers with virtual surround sound. No pricing information has been announced but is has been said that both the XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition will be launched on the UK market first before heading to other markets.
