Motorola Mobility has launched another variant of its Motorola XT531, it has been re-branded to the Motorola SPICE XT for the Latin America Market and re-branded as the Motorola Fire XT for other markets. Like the Fire XT, the SPICE XT features similar specifications and share the same form factor as well.
The SPICE XT comes with the same 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, it gets the same 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, it also has a front-facing VGA camera for video calling as well as the same sensors built in: e-compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and accelerator. The SPICE comes with 512MB of on-board storage but the microSD card slot can expand it to 32GB.
It is powered by an 800MHz processor, the budget-friendly phone runs on the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and uses Motorola’s exclusive MOTO Switch UI that allows the user to shift to different modes while using the device. Other than the built-in Media Player there’s an FM Receiver, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, GPS navigation and a WiFi mobile hotspot features that lets the user share a data connection with up to five separate WiFi-enabled devices.
No pricing information was found on the Motorla SPICE XT but it is presently available from the main mobile carriers in Chile.
