Motorola Mobility have announced the availability of its XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition Android Tablets on the German Market. According to Motorola, both models were designed for productivity, rich entertainment and a customizable experience.
Even thought they both comes under the XOOM 2 moniker, they features a few differences which could mean a different experience from each of the tablets. The Motorola XOOM 2 measures 253.9 mm x 173.6 mm x 8.8 mm and boasts a 10.1-inch HD Touchscreen display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, it features splash-guard and special flattened edges for easier holding, it comes in two different version; there’s a 32GB and 16GB version. The XOOM 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Processor, 1GB of RAM, 3D virtual surround sound and a battery life that promises up to 10 hours of web surfing or over 1 month standby.
The Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition on the other hand measures 139 mm x 216 mm x 8.99 mm and comes with a smaller display at only 8.2-inches, it gets the same processor as the XOOM 2 but is only available in an 16GB option. The battery life of the Media Edition is also lesser at only 6 hours of web usage. Both tablets comes with an 5-megapixel HD camera on the rear with digital zoom, autofocus and LED-flash plus they also get a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for chatting with business colleagues or family members. They also offer the experience of the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS along with Google’s array of applications including Google Maps with Navigation, Google Talk and browsing. They are both available in Germany but no pricing details were noted in the press release.
