NEC Display Solutions, yesterday launched its new and first ever LED-backlit desktop monitor for business, education, government and healthcare markets. It is the NEC MultiSync EA222WMe which features a 22-inch 16:10 LCD display with a 1680×1050 resolution that has a 30,000 dynamic contrast ratio, 250cd/m2 brightness and W-LED backlighting. The EA222WMe can be tagged “Green” as it consumes up to 52 percent less power, radiates up to 61 percent less heat, weighs up to 25 percent less and uses up to 15 percent less packaging.
The LCD display comes equipped with a 4-way ergonomic 110mm adjustable stand that has the ability to tilt, swivel and pivot. The LCD monitor is compliant with ENERGY STAR 5.0, TCO 5.0 and EPEAT Gold. It also comes with integrated down-firing multimedia speakers, connectivity for VGA, DVI, USB, DisplayPort inputs and an ECO Mode with resettable carbon meter and cost meter. The NEC MultiSync EA222WMe starts at an estimated street price of $339 and will be available later this month.
