Netflix just announced that its Windows Phone 8 app is now getting a well deserved update which will enable the app to work just as well with device that has a native 720p display. The update version of the app is now available via the Windows Phone 8 store for free download.
The update to version 188.8.131.52 fills the screen on playback and has got rid of the black bars that where present on the previous version.

Even though the app is available on free download, users will need a Netflix subscription to watch content on a daily basis.
