Nikon has added a new digital camera to its product line up of CoolPix series, the CoolPix AW100 Rugged Digital Camera. This rugged digital camera comes with the ability to withstand the rigorous expectations of the outdoor enthusiasts. It features a newly designed rugged chassis that is built to withstand harsh environments which means it is waterproof, freeze proof and shockproof.
The new CoolPix AW100 is equipped with a 16 Megapixel Backside Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor for improved picture quality even in low lighting conditions as well. It features a 5x Wide Angle Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens and EXPEED C2 image processing engine. It also comes with a few advanced features such as Vibration Reduction (VR), Action Control operation which allows photographers to assign a function to a swinging motion to swiftly select specific settings such as scene mode by simply shaking the camera.
Other specifications of the CoolPix AW100 Rugged Digital Camera includes a 3-inch LCD display, an E-compass, Built-in GPS function and internal map display, it has the ability to record Full HD 1080p video recordings, it provides an HDMI output and can also be used underwater up to 33 feet, it is shock resistant from a drop of 5 feet and freeze resistant down to a frigid 14°F. The new Nikon CoolPix AW100 will be available starting early September for the price of $379.95 in the colors of Blue, Black and Orange plus it is already listed on Amazon.
