Nintendo Wii U sales drop in the US for January

Nintendo Wii UNintendo got off to a good start with its new Wii U Gaming console, a way better start than the 3DS. However, the sales of the new gaming console seems to be slowing down, the company is now experiencing a drop in sales on the US Market. According to Gamasutra, the Wii U sales are well under 100,000 and in actuality closer to 45,000.

The numbers are really disappointing for the company, especially when its compared to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 sales in the same amount of time being available on the US market.

What’s even worse for Nintendo’s console is that NPD, the group providing the numbers have also included the industry “leap year” in its calculations, making January a five week month and the results even more disappointing for Nintendo.
