Nokia has added a new smartphone to its family of Asha devices with the new Nokia Asha 501 which runs the Asha platform. The affordable Asha 501 is the first device to run the company new Asha platform. The new series comes from Nokia’s attempt to make high-end design more affordable for their customers, the Asha design looks similar to the Lumia series, , unifying the look and feel of its offerings.
The Asha 501 comes equipped with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 320×240 pixel resolution, and it only features a back button on the front of the device. It comes with other specifications which includes a 3.2-megapixel camera, it supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity but it has no NFC. The handset also supports dual SIM support thanks to its EasySwap Dual SIM version, it comes with a 4GB microSD card and can support up to 32GB in its slot.
To ensure that you have as much fun with the Asha 501, Nokia has added applications such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Whatsapp, WeChat, plus it comes with 40 free EA games downloadable from Nokia Store. It will be available in six vibrant colors which includes Bright Red, Bright Green, Cyan, Yellow, White and Black for only $99.
