Nokia Lumia Icon Announced by Verizon

Nokia just announced its upcoming high-end Windows Phone 8 Smartphone which will be available exclusively from Verizon Wireless in the United States. Verizon will start offering the device for the retail price of $199.99 with a 2 year contract starting on February 20th.

Introducing Nokia’s newest Windows Phone 8 Smartphone that was recently announced for the US market, the Nokia Lumia Icon. As the latest addition to the Lumia Family in the United States, it comes equipped with a thin and light frame that is enriched with premium design touches, an aluminum construction accompanied by ceramic keys.

nokia lumia iconThe features a state-of-the-art 1080p full HD OLED display with curved glass. The display measures 5-inches, it features a 441ppi pixel density and protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Even with it’s aluminum construction and ceramic keys the Lumia Icon barely move the scales at 5.8 oz.

Other specifications of the Lumia Icon includes a crystal-clear 20-megapixel camera based on Nokia’s award-winning PureView technology and Zeiss optics, capable of capturing excellent video and its lossless microphones ensures that the audio is just as great. The Icon is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz processor, it has 32GB of internal memory and 7GB of cloud storage on Microsoft’s SkyDrive if that’s insufficient for your files.

Nokia’s high-end Lumia Icon comes pre-installed with the latest version of Windows Phone 8, a 2,420 mAh battery that supports built-in wireless charging and should be on Verizon’s shelves in coming months. Thanks to Verizon Wireless the device will come pre-installed with apps such as Instagram, Vine, Mint, Nokia Mix Radio, Redbox Instant, Beats Music, Waze, HERE Drive and HERE Maps.
