OCZ Vertex 3 SSD with 75,000 IOPS Support
OCZ Technology has unveiled its new Vertex 3 line of Solid State Drives which the company is calling the Max IOPS edition. The new series still has a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and utlizes a SandForce SF-2200 controller, it comes with an improved write performance, a 4KB random write performance with up to 75,000 IOPS which is a great upgrade from the regular Vertex 3 that only delivers 60,000 IOPS. The Vertex 3 Max IOPS edition will be available in 120GB and 240GB models, they also support Windows 7 TRIM and according to the company’s CEO, Ryan Petersen: “Vertex 3 Max IOPS drives increase random write performance, and are the ideal storage solution for applications that require high aggregate workloads and increased IO throughput.” Both models are presently up for pre-orders at $296.99 and $556.99, respectively.
