Olympus has announced three new micro four thirds cameras, the PEN E-P3, PEN E-PL3, and PEN E-PM1 which all features interchangeable lens and 12.3-megapixel Live MOS sensors. All three camera has sometime in common, they all comes with a maximum ISO sensitivity of 12,800, they all feature TruePic VI image processors, an autofocus system that the company claims to be the world’s fastest and a 1080i HD video mode that records in either AVCHD or AVI.
The Olympus PEN E-P3 comes equipped with a 3-inch OLED touchscreen display with high-resolution and a newly designed touch interface that provides an innovative touch solution. The PEN E-P3 also comes with in-body image stabilization which allows photographers to take advantage of this feature with every lens. There is the Supersonic Wave Filter which is a patented Dust Reduction System which vibrates to remove dust and other debris from the front of the image sensor.
The PEN E-PL3 features a compact design which is approximately the same size as a small portable point-and-shoot camera, just like the PEN E-P3 it also has the versatility of interchangeable lenses plus it gets a 3-inch LCD display that can be tilted.
The PEN E-PM1 is even more compact than the PEN E-PL3, as it is the smallest and lightest Olympus PEN camera. It will be available in six stylish colors which includes purple, pink, brown, white, silver and black. It comes with a new and simplified user interface which makes it easy to use.
The Olympus PEN E-P3 kit will be available in August in three different colors: black, white and silver. It will be shipped with a MSC M. Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm II R f3.5/5.6 Zoom Lens or a MSC M. Zuiko Digital ED 17mm f2.8 Prime Lens for the price of $899.99. No pricing details has been announced for the Olympus PEN E-PL3 or the E-PM1.
